"Über Ghôl Riot (UGR) Anywhere" ~ v1.4g ~ by Baak

After delving deep in dee Plak Tau ... Ok, actually it was after delving deep
in the depths of Myth Magic - I bring you:

Über Ghôl Riot Anywhere

Play UGR from my "Leagues from Somewhere" map mod on literally hundreds of maps
- 450 Myth II units including WWII, ADT, Wild West, MythWarrior and more are
converted. Extra melee units that might distract from an otherwise spectacular
gaming experience have been beamed into deep space, widest possible angle of
dispersion (that is, they are converted into "nothing" using RDF magic).

And just to keep things interesting, you can play Mini Über Ghôl Riot using RDF
Mini T-Ghôls instead! This is one fast and furious game - MiniGhôls move faster
and over more terrain (including underwater), toss faster (with a lower angle
toss) and are always invisible on the overhead. Insane Bliss™!

Play this plugin *on top of* my Leagues from Somewhere UGR maps for the most
up-to-date UGR experience.

Decide if you want to play Standard UGR or MiniUGR.

* Standard UGR uses normal sized Ghols
* MiniUGR uses my Mini T-Ghols from Rocket Dorf Fest

Then simply make the { UGR X.Xg } or { MiniUGR X.Xg } plugin Active.

That's it.

What's the difference between standard UGR and MiniUGR? In standard UGR, the
Ghols use Special (T) Attacks for normally special items in Myth such as the
Fire Arrow, Healing Melon (Healing being a normally Special Attack), and as a
way to discard a Shield Sphere. With MiniUGR *ALL* attacks are Special, which
means the only auto attacks are hand-to-hand. In addition, MiniGhols can move
all over the place, toss faster (and thus at a lower angle), move differently
and are otherwise ONE WILD RIDE. It's a MUCH faster and more furious game!
Note: Pinata Wights with MiniUGR can move on more terrain too!

Wights on a map are converted into your very own "Pinata Wights" - BEWARE!!!
THEY LOOK JUST LIKE THE AMBIENT ONES! They are the same color no matter what
team they are on! They differ from the ambient Pinata Wights as follows:

- They *always* explode like normal wights
- They don't move around randomly (but still fidget a little when idle)
- They can't move over walking impassable terrain
- They are a bit faster and CHARGE (a little) when close to the enemy
- They will "Run Away!" (a little) if the enemy gets too close
- Their Pus is *potent* and makes a far better weapon than normal pus!


Wow! Your UGR Ghols now have the ability to "Drop Goodies" by using the Shift-
Inventory command (Shift-I by default). You can now drop things (like laying
an egg) without causing them to go off! This adds a LOT of possibilities...
(I notice it appears you have to click the next item *twice* to pick it up -
may be a little Myth bug...)

I also made the UGR Ghols so they can still pick up *anything* (and removed
the ability to pick up Ghol body parts after the umpteenth time I picked up
one of Queso's Ghol's arms thinking it was a Pickle o' Death). Any non-UGR
projectile you pick up will show up as the usual "something in a bag" icon
in the Ghol's status bar and cannot be dropped with Shift-Inventory.

The UGR Readme from my map mod "Leagues from Somewhere" (where UGR originated)
is included below. It describes the UGR Goodies and Pinata Wights in detail.



In the tradition of Ghôl Riot maps - especially those from "Myopia" and
"Mudpit Mega Mix" - I bring you Uber Ghol Riot.

Originally a mesh added to my Map Mod, "Leagues from Somewhere", I have also
created a plugin version called "UGR Anywhere" that takes advantage of features
graciously added to Project Magma's Patch 1.6 by Myrd (*THANKS, Myrd!!*), which
allows you to play UGR on literally hundreds of maps!

I'm not kidding - some 469 units are converted!

IMO, UGR is the ultimate Ghôl Riot game because of three things:

(1) At the start of each and every game the UGR Goodies (the stuff the Ghôls
get to throw at each other) are randomly scattered around the ENTIRE map! Watch
them drop from the sky after five seconds and magically transform into things
to throw - OMG! This bit of magic means you will never, ever play two games of
UGR that are the same. You won't learn by heart where everything is. It's sweet!
This was the very first challenge at the heart of the game.

(2) The Goodies were painstakingly balanced and carefully proportioned over
dozens of games to create the best possible gaming experience. On top of that,
there is an extreme level of detail in the behavior of all Goodies - some quite
subtle - with some very funny results, making the experience as entertaining as
it is challenging and exciting. My favorites by far are some of the duds!

(3) There is a LOT of strategy to UGR - it still surprises us! There is no
guaranteed combination of items that will win and just when you think you've
got a game nailed, something wild (and often hilarious) happens.

Remember: Everything Duds Sometimes!


...EXCEPT you might want to read the following first just in case your friends
have beaten you to it:


* SHIELD SPHERES - Pick one up and suddenly you're tougher to blow up! You can
still be turned to stone, pussed, and hacked to bits though - and like most
other UGR Goodies, there are duds (these do *not* make you tougher but look
the same). The Spheres themselves cannot be destroyed and are light to toss.

***NOTE: Use your Special Attack (T) to DISCARD a Shield Sphere***

* FIRE ARROWS - Fling these puppies at your enemy - they can travel further
than most other UGR Goodies and occasionally go out mid-flight (pffft!)

***NOTE: Use your Special Attack (T) to toss a Fire Arrow***

* HEALING WATERMELONS - Watermelons "Group Heal" (as in Myopia). Heal a bunch
of your units (get them close together first) or yourself (i.e. a lone ghol)
by T-clicking the units in question *or* the GROUND near the target(s) with
the melon toss. You can also use them to heal wights (or enemies you feel
guilty about hurting). Occasionally they dud into watermelon chunks...

***NOTE: Use your Special Attack (T) to toss a Healing Melon at the ground***

HEALING MELON TIP: Heal Stoned Units to bring them back to life! :D

* GOODIE-SPAWNING CUBES - Journeyman Mandrake Roots are converted to these
glowing green cubes. Toss it to bring another 60 or so Goodies into the game.
Note also that dropping a cube with Shift-I will *still* cause it to spawn.

***NOTE: Use your Special Attack (T) to toss a Goodie-Spawning Cube***


* STONE PUMPKINS - Hit an enemy with one of these babies and watch as they
turn to stone before your very eyes! Can be healed with melons to bring them
back to the living. Pumpkins are somewhat magical and tend to "float" further
than other Goodies when thrown, *but* their radius-of-effect is very narrow -
you must hit your target "dead on" to be effective. Best used in one-on-one
attacks, but if the enemy is paying attention they can dodge 'em.

If you miss, Stone Pumpkins crumble into powder. If they dud, they crumble
into large chunks and make no turn-to-stone sound.

NOTE: Due to an odd quirk of the Myth Engine, hunting units that are turned
to stone often start moving again! :D

* PICKLE O' DEATH - This is one briny treat! Toss these smokin' cukes at your
enemies with relish! ;)

* EXPLODING DORF HEADS - Packed full of who-knows-what kind of explosives,
these are both grim and deadly with a tendency to bounce and behave a bit
like... well... a Dorf head full of explosives. If one duds at your feet,
pick it up and *toss it back* at your enemy! :D

* MORTAR ROUNDS - Think of these as the Mortar Rounds that didn't pass the
most stringent Dorf Quality Assurance tests. The damage they dish out is
more variable (a 100% healthy Ghol can sometimes survive a direct hit).
Pure duds crumble like charcoal...

* PUS PACKETS - Ah... a Ghol's Best Friend! ;)

* DORF SATCHELS - Best used by targeting them on the ground, but in UGR these
are *much* lighter and can be tossed about the same distance as everything
else - use them in combination with explosive Goodies - muhahahahahaaaa...

* GHOL CLEAVERS - Can be used as a last-ditch-effort when thrown...

* BEACHBALLS - Every now and then you'll find one of these on the field - I've
reworked them to actually behave like a beachball (unlike the original)! ;)

Most of the UGR Goodies can dud and many of them can "come back to life" after
dudding and/or bouncing. Just a little bit of UGR wackiness to keep life more
interesting. So if a dud lands at your feet and you are unarmed, it might be a
really good idea to pick it up and chuck it back at your enemy! :)

Ghols will drop most Goodies they are carrying when killed, with the exception
of Healing Melons and Stone Pumpkins.

Be careful when tossing something at Dorf Heads or Mortar Rounds sitting on
the ground - they just might go flying *before* they explode! Of course, this
is yet another aspect of UGR you can use strategically to your advantage.

In addition to the Ghol description changing to include a hint as to what you
are carrying - i.e. "Ghol (w/Melon)" - I also made it so that you can see the
item you are carrying in your Status Bar.

*** Baak's Quick UGR Tip: "Sour Pickles Keel - Sweet Melons Heal" ***

Pinata Wights - Ambient Life - orange color. When killed will:

(1) Turn into SEVEN random goodies! (40% chance)
or (2) Blow up like normal - stand back! (40% chance)
or (3) Dud. Pfffft... (20% chance)
