"Leagues from Somewhere" 1.1g ~ by Baak ~ Original Map** by Bungie Software

Dedicated to the Members and Special Guests of the Order of H'Pak.
Last Updated: 2005/12/22

Here's my mod of Leagues from Nowhere, with six all-new maps and a special
treat: a brand new game I've created called "Uber Ghol Riot!" - OMG is it FUN!
(Look for the Official UGR Manual on the OoH website here:

LFS was originally designed with the intent of modifying Leagues from Nowhere
to allow Rocket Dorf Fest to be played (having the center start was not good).
After more than 150 games over the past couple of years, it has evolved into
something completely unexpected.

It is now great fun with or without RDF and *sweet* for UGR! :D

* Leagues ~ Light Team Light units in two nice, big teams
* Leagues ~ Light FFA Light units on 4 starts (no middle start)
* Leagues ~ Dorf Riot! 8 starts - designed for RDF, Flare Dorfs, etc.
* Leagues ~ Uber Ghol Riot! 2 }
* Leagues ~ Uber Ghol Riot! 4 }<-- UGR - Described in detail below
* Leagues ~ Uber Ghol Riot! 8 }

All maps contain *all* game types except "Dorf Riot!", which does not include
Hunting. I've also created special Scavenger Hunt Balls #6 through #9 that
are missing in the original Myth II game.

All Flag Rally games and Scavenger Hunt games have nine flags/balls. Terries
games have 11 flags; Captures games have 11 balls both laid out as eight in
a circle with the last three in the center pit - MUHAHAHAHAAAAA...

* Assassin targets are Warlock Heroes (convert to RD Giant Heroes in RDF),
except on Dorf Riot! and UGR where they are Dorfs and Ghols respectively

* King of the Ball is the KotH game (especially for NKI & TS)
NOTE: You can flip this to be played with a Flag using my "KotH Flipper"

* All game types are revised and MUCH more interesting

* All maps contain either an RDF or UGR "Truce Off" Siren:

RDF: You are not allowed to fire an RD/Giant Fireball at the enemy
(unless they are charging or threatening you) before the siren

UGR: You are not allowed to attack an enemy before the siren

* All maps now burn and Archers start with Flame Arrows

* Difficulty Settings change # units on Dorf Riot! and UGR only (see below)

* The Hunting unit is a skittish (on non-UGR maps for playing with RDF)
version of Bungie's Swineherd unit. On UGR they aren't quite as skittish...

FLASH: I've added a new "Axe-Attacking Swineherd" Stampede unit to the UGR
and Dorf Riot maps, bringing to life the excitement and horror of
the original Swineherd Axe Attack! :D

NOTE: The Swineherd "Soft Death" appeared to be incomplete (and looked very
odd to me), so I fixed it. It looks much better now. In fact, I've
tweaked a lot of little things to make this unit "complete" including
a list of appropriate names and some tiny missing tags.

Version 3.0 adds a new 8-start FFA map: "Dorf Riot!", in the tradition of
"StoneHeart RDF!!". Your units are 2 to 8 Dorfs (Dorf Heroes on Assassin)
with up to 6 Ghols based on the Difficulty setting:

Timid: 2 Dorf
Simple: 4 Dorfs
Normal: 6 Dorfs, 2 Ghol
Heroic: 6 Dorfs, 4 Ghols
Legendary: 8 Dorfs, 6 Ghols

This is especially designed for the various RDF Unit Sets, but the classic
RD or Hero Madness games are the most fun imo. Flare Dorfs on this map are
also surprisingly fun.

In the tradition of all Ghol Riot maps, but especially those from "Myopia" and
"Mudpit Mega Mix", I've created what may well be the end-all Ghol Riot game:

At the start of the game the UGR projectiles are *randomly scattered around
the ENTIRE map*! Watch them drop from the sky after five seconds and magically
transform into things to throw! They are carefully proportioned to give more
of certain types of objects, and - well, THIS IS JUST SO DANG FUN YOU SHOULD

EXCEPT you might want to READ THIS FIRST:

* SHIELD SPHERES - Pick one up and suddenly you're tougher to blow up! You can
still be turned to stone, pussed, and hacked to bits though - and like most
other UGR Goodies, there are duds (these do *not* make you tougher but look
the same). The Spheres themselves cannot be destroyed and are light to toss.

***NOTE: Use your Special Attack (T) to DISCARD a Shield Sphere***

* FIRE ARROWS - Fling these puppies at your enemy - they can travel further
than most other UGR Goodies and occasionally go out mid-flight (pffft!)

***NOTE: Use your Special Attack (T) to toss a Fire Arrow***

* HEALING WATERMELONS - Watermelons "Group Heal" (as in Myopia). Heal a bunch
of your units (get them close together first) or yourself (i.e. a lone ghol)
by T-clicking the GROUND near the target(s) with the melon toss. You can
also use them to heal wights (or enemies you feel guilty about hurting).
Occasionally they dud into a pile of watermelon chunks...

***NOTE: Use your Special Attack (T) to toss a Healing Melon at the ground***

HEALING MELON TIP: Heal Stoned Units to bring them back to life! :D

* STONE PUMPKINS - Hit an enemy with one of these babies and watch as they
turn to stone before your very eyes! Can be healed with melons to bring them
back to the living. Pumpkins are somewhat magical and tend to "float" further
than other Goodies when thrown, *but* their radius-of-effect is very narrow -
you must hit your target "dead on" to be effective. Best used in one-on-one
attacks, but if the enemy is paying attention they can dodge 'em.

If you miss, Stone Pumpkins crumble into powder. If they dud, they crumble
into large chunks and make no turn-to-stone sound.

NOTE: Due to an odd quirk of the Myth Engine, hunting units that are turned
to stone often start moving again! :D

* PICKLE O' DEATH - This is one briny treat! Toss these smokin' cukes at your
enemies with relish! ;)

* EXPLODING DORF HEADS - Packed full of who-knows-what kind of explosives,
these are both grim and deadly with a tendency to bounce and behave a bit
like... well... a Dorf head full of explosives. If one duds at your feet,
pick it up and *toss it back* at your enemy! :D

* MORTAR ROUNDS - Think of these as the Mortar Rounds that didn't pass the
most stringent Dorf Quality Assurance tests. The damage they dish out is
more variable (a 100% healthy Ghol can sometimes survive a direct hit).
Pure duds crumble like charcoal...

* PUS PACKETS - Ah... a Ghol's Best Friend! ;)

* DORF SATCHELS - Best used by targeting them on the ground, but in UGR these
are *much* lighter and can be tossed about the same distance as everything
else - use them in combination with explosive Goodies - muhahahahahaaaa...

* GHOL CLEAVERS - Can be used as a last-ditch-effort when thrown...

* BEACHBALLS - Every now and then you'll find one of these on the field - I've
reworked them to actually behave like a beachball (unlike the original)! ;)

Most of the UGR Goodies can dud and many of them can "come back to life" after
dudding and/or bouncing. Just a little bit of UGR wackiness to keep life more
interesting. So if a dud lands at your feet and you are unarmed, it might be a
really good idea to pick it up and chuck it back at your enemy! :)

Ghols will drop most Goodies they are carrying when killed, with the exception
of Healing Melons and Stone Pumpkins.

Be careful when tossing something at Dorf Heads or Mortar Rounds sitting on
the ground - they just might go flying *before* they explode! Of course, this
is yet another aspect of UGR you can use strategically to your advantage.

In addition to the Ghol description changing to include a hint as to what you
are carrying - i.e. "Ghol (w/Melon)" - I also made it so that you can see the
item you are carrying in your Status Bar.

*** Baak's Quick UGR Tip: "Sour Pickles Keel - Sweet Melons Heal" ***

The Difficulty Setting determines the number of Ghols on each team - the only
difference between Heroic and Legendary are the ambient Pinata Wights:

---------- --------- ---------
Timid: 12 4 2
Simple: 18 6 3
Normal: 24 12 6
Heroic: 36 16 8
Legendary: 36 + Amb 16 + Amb 8 + Amb

Pinata Wights - Ambient Life on Legendary - orange color. When killed will:

(1) Turn into SEVEN random goodies! (40% chance)
or (2) Blow up like normal - stand back! (40% chance)
or (3) Dud. Pfffft... (20% chance)

Yes, you CAN play Rocket Dorf Fest on top of UGR here! This gives you T-Ghols
instead of normal ghols, which means they are faster, can attack hand-to-hand
before tossing (since they only toss with a T-attack), and can generally throw
stuff REALLY far (except Flame Arrows and Healing Melons, which are always the
same with or without RDF). It's *awesome* - especially with Mini T-Ghols! :D

Here's what you get in place of Ghols when you plug in RDF Unit Sets:

* M+M Madness gives you Mini T-Ghols! <== *** INSANELY FUN!!! ***
* Giant Madness gives you T-Ghol Tossers (2Pus-sized T-Ghols)
* Variety Pak, RD Madness and Hero Madness gives you T-Ghols
* Mini Madness gives you *Minis* that can pick up and toss goodies! :)
* Mondo Madness gives you *Mondos* that can pick up and toss goodies! :)

Oh, and the Stampede Swineherds become *Mini T-Ghols* that can *also* toss
goodies (though not as far) - don't forget they can move all over the place
*and* are invisible on the overhead! :)

Let me know how you like my Map Mod and Uber Ghol Riot in particular!

Enjoy!! :D

P.S. While testing this mod I discovered a "fish skeleton cave drawing" on
the map that is fairly large in one corner. In the opposite corner there
appears to be an image of a bird/fossil skeleton.

On the Light Team Map I've added a Beachball to the map - it is located
on the "eye of the fish" to help you to locate this interesting drawing.
Move it out of the way and you should be able to see it (hint: back your
camera into the NE corner and look at it from that direction). It's like
a "watermark" image - very faint.
