 A Soldier's Peeve: Disturbance at Ruff's Peak
by: lego_maniac (lego_maniac@geocities.com)

"A Soldier's Peeve" takes place in Ruff's Peak, a snow-covered village with a likely population of less than a dozen. Especially since they're being killed off for no apparent reason.

-----------------
What's the story?
-----------------
You are a soldier in the Army. While on a vacation in the Rockies, you get a transmission from your Sergeant. He goes on to describe a terrorist invasion. It turns out your vacation spot is only three miles from Ruff's Peak, where the terrorists are currently slaughtering a small village. The villagers have no way to defend themselves, thus you are called in for duty.

--------------------
What is Ruff's Peak?
--------------------
Ruff's Peak is a scarcely settled village located high up in the Rocky Mountains. Since it's high in the mountains, Ruff's Peak is usually covered with a blanket of snow. There's also a small river running through Ruff's Peak, and the temperature is just cold enough to keep it frozen. But it's warming up, and parts of the river are melting.

WARNING: THIS SECTION CONTAINS INFO ON HIDDEN ITEMS & EXTRAS!!
DO NOT READ UNLESS YOU ARE STUCK!!

SPOILER: There are three med-kits to be found in the Ruff's Peak area. The 1st, and most obvious, is next to the RPG on top of the hill just before the first river crossing. The 2nd is behind the buildings in the village area. Check behind that bush in the NorthEast corner. And, the 3rd is in the shallow water at the second river crossing. Those med-kits often come in quite handy.

SPOILER: This is a hint. Do you have trouble killing the group of terrorists that patrol around the village? Try getting up on the plateau just after the second crossing (after killing the enemies on it of course), and nading the patrolling terrorists. They won't be able to hit you, but you can nade them easily.

Easter Egg: I call this the "Circus".. Go up to the village in the NorthEast. Have your soldier stand in that little area between the back door and chimney of the biggest house. Then, make your soldier taunt (with the U key by default), and watch..

Easter Egg: This one's called the "Atomic Chicken".. Go up to the NorthWest corner, and kill the chicken there. Then, go down to the SouthEast corner, and kill the chicken there (it will probably take a few minutes, because you'll have to kill the terrorists on your way). After killing the SouthEast chicken, walk a couple hundred feet north (back towards the second river crossing), and kill the new chicken that just appeared. That is the "Atomic Chicken" :)
