One of the improvements from Myth TFL to Myth 2 caused units to 'clump' up when a a large group of units are involved in a battle.

Unless trying to trap a large fast unit like a Trow, smart players will try to prevent their units from clumping as it makes them very susceptible to area-based attacks (like dwarf bottles, and warlock fireballs), and look for opportunities to attack clumps of enemy units with area-based attacks.
