; Mythgraveyard : ping

In myth term, ping is a measure of the host's connection speed, in milliseconds, posted to the right of a joinable game in the chatroom. Low numbers are better; as the number increases, so does your chance for lag. A T1 connnection may have a number in the high 200's, and a 28.8 connection one in the 500/600's. Games that post numbers above 600 aren't inviting. [definition by CoV] In real world terms ping is the amount of time it takes one computer to send a message to another one on the internet. In theory, the closer geographically you are to the person hosting the game, and the faster the hosts internet connection the lower the ping will be.
